Trading a badge for a real estate license, I’ve found a new way to serve, protect, and make a difference.
After more than 15 years in law enforcement, I found myself at a crossroads. I had moved from my hometown of Winter Garden to Spring Hill, Florida, to be with my wife, Siri, and joined a new police department. About a year and a half later, COVID changed everything. A good friend I had worked with for years encouraged me to get into real estate. Within two weeks, I earned my real estate license and took a leap of faith into a completely new career.
Looking back, the career change wasn't as drastic as it may seem. Service has always been at the core of who I am. Even as a kid, I loved playing cops and robbers and always wanted to be the one chasing the "bad guys." I became a police officer at 20 and spent more than 15 years protecting my community. The job taught me how to stay calm under pressure, communicate with people from all walks of life, and navigate difficult situations. Six years in the K9 unit were some of the best years of my career, and my retired K9 partner, Mack, is still with me today.
When I first considered real estate, I wasn't sure it was for me. I've never been someone who enjoys selling, and I have to believe in what I'm doing. It didn't take long to realize that real estate isn't about sales at all. It's about walking people through life-changing decisions. Just like law enforcement, every day is different, every client has a unique situation, and my job is to guide them through it with honesty and professionalism. When things get stressful or unexpected problems arise, I’m right here to solve it. My role is to give my clients the information they need to make confident decisions while protecting their best interests every step of the way.
The first year was a whirlwind. It took four months to close my first transaction, but during that time, I immersed myself in learning every aspect of the business. I studied contracts, negotiations, and everything that goes into a successful transaction. By the end of that first year, I had matched what I was earning in law enforcement. One principle has remained constant: chase the people, not the money. If you genuinely take care of people, the business will follow.
Today, I still see my role as serving and protecting others. It just looks different than it did when I wore a badge. Instead of helping people in their worst moments, I have the privilege of helping people through one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives. Whether it's a first-time homebuyer, someone downsizing, or a family relocating, I take that responsibility seriously. My background taught me how to communicate clearly, stay composed and focused, and advocate for the people who have placed their trust in me. Those same principles continue to guide every client I serve.
Looking ahead, my goal is to continue growing my business while raising the standard of service in our industry. In law enforcement, I enjoyed being a field training officer and firearms instructor. In real estate that has translated to mentoring agents and helping them get their business off the ground and running. My mom now works alongside me too, which has been great because we both share a heart for helping people. Together, we strive to provide the kind of genuine service every client deserves.
Outside of work, Siri is a registered nurse and nursing instructor who is working toward becoming a nurse practitioner. We live on just under 10 acres with our three rescue dogs, Paisley, Kelly, Bruce, and of course, Mack. When I'm not helping clients, you'll usually find me hunting, restoring my 1986 Chevy K10, working out, or spending time with my nieces and nephews.
My goal is to make the real estate process easier by being the person you can rely on to find solutions, provide honest advice, and handle the details along the way. I will take the time to understand your goals, give you straightforward feedback, and help you see the full picture before making a decision. For buyers, that means looking beyond the surface of a home, identifying potential concerns, and helping you understand what you are truly purchasing before submitting an offer. For sellers, that means helping you prepare your home, addressing issues before they become obstacles, and creating a plan to put your property in the best position possible.
I’m very hands on and resourceful. If a small repair is needed, often I can do it myself to get it done right away. For larger projects, I have a great network of trusted professionals and will directly oversee work and ensure it is completely on time and to the standards I expect. Through negotiations and working with other parties, I am a fierce advocate for my clients and am always working to get the best outcome possible. My goal is to be a resource you can count on from start to finish, and even beyond!
Sincerely,
